Three Baby Chickadees Outside My Door

Struggling things!

Waiting things!

Vulnerable things!

Empty creatures with beaks sprung wide,

desperately, incessantly clamoring for more!

But not…

poor struggling things,

poor waiting things,

poor vulnerable things,

poor little empty creatures

clamoring for more.

This is the way of the egg,

the way of the bird,

the way of Life…

with the struggle,

the waiting,

the vulnerability

and, most of all,

the emptiness that

cries out for the More.

About Ann

I am interested in the strange beauty of brokenness, in transforming possibility in difficult times, in how we heal even when we can’t get better, in the alchemy of surrender, in the interplay of light and shadow, in the bounty of everyday wonders, in the gift of laughter…and writing about it, all and everything.
